Employers are experiencing a demand for entry level workers that exceeds the supply.  They are therefore hiring workers who often lack fundamental employment (essential) skills.  It has become necessary for employers to enhance the training and support for these employees in order to ensure their productivity.

Program Description

Twenty Four Seven and Centre of Integration for African Americans (CIAI) and the Business Improvement Society (BIA) are working together with funding from the Provincial and Federal governments, to deliver work-place based training.

Curriculum will be developed that includes such things as life management skills, health and safety, English at work, job specific skills and certificates such as Food Safe, Super Host, WHMIS and First Aid.

The training hours will be flexible and scheduled to enhance rather than limit employee productivity.

Training will be specific to job tasks, will include one-on-one mentoring, and will use authentic workplace materials.
